Frank Yee knocks Ma Hon Wah off the top spot to take pole in Q2

S&D driver Frank Yee will start on Pole Position in Race 2 of the Renault Clio Cup Asia Series. Already claimed the Pole Position for Race 1, Ma Hon Wah sets the fastest lap early in the session and opted to stay in the pits for the final 10 minutes.  With 8 minutes to go in the session, Yee wrestled the top spot from Ma posting the fastest lap of 1:53.536, meaning Ma will start at 2nd position on race 2. When asked why he elected to remain in the pits, Ma exclaimed, "I was confident with my time and satisfied with starting on the front row."

The session proved to be extremely competitive, with the top 6 positions separated by less than half a second. In the mix of the session, Ye Xing Ping of HE Racing proved he was pushing the limits of his MK4 with a spin late in the session, the Chinese driver secured 3rd position for Race 2. Meanwhile, Yang Chun Lei of HiRacer topped timesheet early on but ended up 5th position, 0.01 seconds off Huang Yi in 4th.

Vincent Wu of KRC overcame an early spin and put his MK4 in 6th position, making it 5 different teams in the top 6 starting positions.

Chuang Yi Fung claimed an easy Pole Position for the Elite class in his MK3 with a 2 seconds gap, with Ou Yang Zhen Wei in 2nd Position and Jason Fung starting in 3rd.

The season will kick of with Race 1 at 16:05 on Saturday and Race 2 will start at 8:40 on Sunday.
